The First Year
POSTED: Mon., November 15, 2010 12:37 PM

I can't believe it's been a year already! Time really does fly when you're having fun...

Hey Guys! Looks like the weather has decided to cooperate for a while longer—definitely a nice change from years past when we had snow on Halloween and a foot on the ground by mid November! It’s a little early to start singing carols, but I’m not going to lie, even without the snow I’m looking forward to the Holidays! It’s the perfect time to reflect—and recognize how grateful I am for such a wonderful first year in the family business. Those of you who’ve visited the store may realize that I’ve been an official member of the team for a little over a year now, and it’s been an amazing time! There was the “How would you pop the Q?” contest last winter where I got to hear everyone’s creative proposal ideas, and then later that spring, we had “The Great Diamond Hunt” where I got to share clues leading to a hidden diamond engagement ring in downtown Syracuse!

That was one of my favorite contests—it’s not every day that you get serenaded by a crowd of people singing show tunes! And who could forget this summer’s concert with the Band Perry? Meeting rock stars really isn’t part of the day-to-day business around here—so that definitely stands out as a highlight.

And of course that concert was where we participated in the Diamonds in the Sand contest and gave away another engagement ring! Wes took off for Japan again this fall, but still managed to participate in our Halloween video… I really couldn’t have done it without him! Looking back, it was a busy year! Cutting radio commercials in the studio downtown, helping customers at the store, and participating in community events doesn’t leave time for too much else… but I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a memorable year for me, and here’s looking to many more just like it! Best, Charlie

When it comes to weddings, nothing surprises me. It can be one of the best times of your life. There are so many questions, concerns and details to deal with. One of the hardest and most exciting things is choosing a ring, but let's not stop there. What about the proposal? What about the flowers and the honeymoon? The list goes on and on. That is where I come in. I can help you with everything down to the tiniest of details...just ask!
