Hey guys, Charlie D. here! The decorations are up and the holiday music has begun - the holiday season has arrived and everyone is thinking of that someone special in their lives. Maybe you’re thinking of proposing? You’re not the only one! The holiday proposal is one of the most popular proposal styles out there and for good reason. Surrounded by family, friends, and the spirit of giving sounds like the perfect cocktail for a memorable moment like this. Why wouldn’t you pop the Q during one of the most joyous times of the year?
There are a ton of cool holiday proposal ideas and trends out there, but it all depends on your personal style. Whether you’re all about the PDA, or you tend to be a bit more hush-hush, here are a few of my all time favorites that are sure to appeal to any personality.
For a more public announcement…
As they say – go big, or go home. Take your proposal to the next level by arranging Christmas lights to spell out the question “Will you marry me?” That is sure to get her (and all your neighbors’) attention.
Or how about
this? When the whole family is
gathered for the holiday festivities, have a friend dress up as Santa to come
by with a small present for your future Mrs. I’ll bet this will be the best
gift she’s ever opened!
If you’re into something a bit more low key…
Why not make it sentimental? While decorating the Christmas tree – hide the ring in an ornament. Once she thinks the tree is decorated to perfection, give it to her to hang on the tree.
Or, you could go old school. One of the traditions in many towns is to offer holiday light tours, or even better, horse and carriage rides through town to check out the holiday décor. So maybe it won’t be just the two of you (those horse’s lips are sealed, I promise!), but it could be a cozy, quiet moment you share together as you offer your romantic proposal.
Those are just a few of the cool ideas out there, but check out these lists on The Knot or How I Got Engaged for more! As always, I’m here to help if you need more advice. Happy holidays!
Until next week,
Charlie D.
